The Hooker Bulldogs showed they had no problems bouncing back from a long tournament weekend, as they traveled to Rolla and picked up a 76-37 win over the Pirates.

"I was pretty pleased," Hooker head coach Bud Valerius said. "Usually the first game after a tournament is one of the hardest to get ready to play, because you expend so much energy and don't have much time to prepare for the next one. I was very pleased with our effort. We talked about some things we didn't do well in the tournament, and we got those corrected."

Hooker took control of the game early, building a 22-5 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs extended their lead over the Pirates to 35, at 44-9. Hooker scored another 24 in the third, and finally slowed down in the fourth.

Joe Bean led all scorers with 23, while Alex Sanchez scored 13, and Guerrero Garcia added 11. Hooker improves their overall record to 12-2, and will return home this Friday to face Laverne, Okla.
