It really didn’t matter who Lady Saints coach Toby Wynn put on the floor Saturday night against Colby — the Lady Saints were going to score.

With several starters watching in street clothes due to injury, the No. 10 Lady Saints dismantled Colby 96-49 to move to 2-0 in the Jayhawk West.

Seward simply took the ball away from the Lady Trojans at will, forcing 30 turnovers and snagging 21 steals in the lopsided victory.

Five Lady Saints scored in double digits, and the Lady Saints were able to string points together in long runs.

The only disappointment for the Lady Saint fans that filled the Green House Saturday would have been that Seward missed the century mark by four points.

Seward rolled to an early 16-3 lead and increased the advantage to 35-9 before Colby was able to break into double digits.

By halftime, the Lady Saints enjoyed a 55-19 lead.

Seward continued to pour it on in the second half despite only connecting on 13 of 36 shot attempts.

Wynn had nine Lady Saints to play, and he could not have slowed down the scoring with his personnel. Ever combination led to more scoring and more forced turnovers.

The Lady Saints were able to hit the long ball, making of of 10 three-pointers in the second half and 10 of 26 for the game.

Anete Kirsteine penetrated the lane to lead the Lady Saints with 18 points. Kelsey Blair had one of her best nights as a Lady Saint with 18 points, Ricquia Jones scored 12, Mattie Yanke had 12, and Charmaine Burns added 11.
