By EARL WATT • Daily Leader Nate Davis should have sat closer to the podium Saturday night during the Liberal High School Athletic Awards and Scholarship Assembly.

Davis made a number of trips to the front to collect a handful of hardware as a standout Redskin athlete for the Class of 2009.

MaKayla McPhail also earned her fair share of awards for the Lady Redskins after a stellar career that included varsity action from the moment she entered LHS as a freshman.

Those receiving awards were:

KSCB Redskin Scholarship: Nate Davis

 

KSCB Lady Redskin Scholarship: Hannah Rotolo

 

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Athlete of the Year: Ryan Petty

 

Junior Lady Redskin of the Year: LaTonya Gooden

 

Junior Iron Man of the Year: Michael Cummins

 

Outstanding All Around Lady Redskin: MaKayla McPhail

 

Outstanding All Around Redskin: Nate Davis

 

Daily Leader Redskin of the Year: Nate Davis

 

Daily Leader Lady Redskin of the Year: MaKayla McPhail

 

Activities Academic Lady Redskin: MaKayla McPhail
