LOTA C. COBB

Lota C. Cobb, 85, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at her home.

She was born Sept. 12, 1923, to Earl Q. and Mary L. Griffith Helsel at Liberal.

She married Orval M. Cobb Sept. 20, 1942, in Garden City. He died June 30, 2006.

She graduated Liberal High School in 1941 and was a sales  clerk at Grisier’s Dress Shop for more than years.

She is survived by one son, Don Cobb and wife, Karin, Sedelia, Mo.; one brother, Kenneth Helsel, Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Margaret Biendi, Phoenix; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Cobb and wife, Allison, and Christina Quick; and four great-grandchildren, Lane and Brennan Quick, Karinne and Kendall Cobb.  

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gerald and Othal Helsel, and three sisters, Freda Dykes, Bernice Brose and Dessi Tarrant.

o Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Miller Chapel, with the Rev. Rex Petty presiding.

Burial will be Monday at the Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may sign the register book  from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Miller Mortuary.
