WILLIAM C. PITTMAN
William C. “Bill” Pittman, 69, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Feb. 18, 1939, to Clyde and Pauline Tucker Pittman in Dodge City.
He married Faylene Ambrosier in 1957.
He graduated from Liberal High School in 1957.
He served in the Kansas National Guard for more than 10 years. He was employed by R. C. Williams Trucking Inc., Security Bits and owned Dollar Bill’s Tavern.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Liberal.
He is survived by one son, William Pittman and wife, Kim, Wichita; three daughters, Ellen Banister and husband, Daryl, Augusta, Helen Shawver and husband, Martin, Douglass, Dulene Rathbun and husband Rusty, Wichita; one brother, Donald Pittman and wife, Polly Ann, Dallas; six grandchildren, Joshua and Jered Banister, Wichita, Sally Shawver, Arkansas City, Blaine Shawver, Douglass, and Morgan and Montgomery Rathbun, Wichita; one sister-in-law, Donna Pittman, Liberal; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James H. Pittman, one sister, Louise Dellinger Eichman, and one companion, DeAnna Evans.
o Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jack Russell presiding.
Burial and graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Minneola Cemetery.
