By JESSICA CRAWFORD • Daily Leader Bob Carlile is no stanger to serving in elected office. Carlile has been on the USD No. 480 school board and served a term as a city commissioner in the late 1990s.
He will now return for a two-year term after a third-place finish in Tuesday’s election.
“I feel real good about it,” Carlile said this morning. “It is going to be interesting to work with some of these guys and see if we can move Liberal forward.”
Carlile has been active in Liberal most his life, and he feels that will help him in his position on the commission.
“I have served on the Kids Inc. board years ago when my kids were involved. I served on it for 10 or 12 years. I enjoyed it tremendously and think it is an excellent, excellent program. And, I served on the school board for 12 years.
“The only thing new about this will be finding out how to work with the guys that are going to be there,” Carlile continued. “As far as the rest of the stuff, I am pretty well versed on that.”
He was also pleased with the support he received from the public.
“I am thankful for the support and the votes I just hope that now we can all work together to make Liberal a better place to live,” he added.
