Special to the Leader & Times
Liberal came out of the Garden City Quad with a 2-2 overall record and a 1-1 WAC record.
Liberal started the day by losing to Holcomb in two (23-25 and 22-25). The Lady ’Skins play great offense but the defensive end fell short. Kaitlyn Ralston had two aces. Marisol Regalado led the team in kills with seven and only three errors in 15 attempts. Cynthia Cisneros led the defense with 10 digs
In the second match of the night, and the first conference game, Liberal defeated Great Bend ( 25-23 and 25-20). Katie Garcia had three aces, Jai Chapman and Makiah Adams each had four kills and Cisneros had five digs. “The defense and offense worked together to bring the win to the Lady Skins,” Liberal coach Thais Baziquetto said. “A couple hitters stepped up and made a difference in the game.”
The last game of the night was against Garden City. The Lady Buffaloes defeated  Liberal (13-25 and 18-25).
“We were not able to get a good pass throughout the match,” Baziquetto said. “When we did get passes our offense was not able to finish the ball and the score showed it.”
