Gilbert Cordova, 79, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Satanta District Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1930, to Antonio and Esprina (Garcia) Cordova in Denver.
He married Margaret Quintana Jan. 20, 1949, in Tucumcari, N.M. She survives.
He had served in the United States Army from March 2, 1951, to Feb. 19, 1953.
He was a brick layer and rancher.
He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the VFW.
Other survivors include one son, Herman Cordova and wife, Brenda, Liberal; two daughters, Margie Romero and husband, Frank, Albuquerque, N.M., and Viola Noble and husband, Don, Guymon, Okla., eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Cordova, Mike Cordova and Jose Marian Cordova; three sisters, Betty Cordova, Mary Ann Bailey and Gloria Chavez; and two grandchildren.
o Rosary and vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father James P. Dieker presiding.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery with military honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
