MILDRED P. GOKEY
Mildred P. Gokey, 69, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born June 7, 1939, to Aaron C. and Erma B. Young Covel in Oklahoma City.
She married Louis Gokey July 21, 1956, in Tecumseh, Okla. He survives.
She graduated high school in Tecumseh.
She was a secretary and bookkeeper for Southwest Gas Equipment Co. for 30 years, retiring in 2007.
She enjoyed crocheting, watching her grandkids play sports and family get togethers.
Other survivors include three sons, Raymond Gokey and wife, Nikki, Meade, Ronald Gokey, Liberal, and Richard Gokey and wife, Karin, Liberal; one daughter, Pamela Lee, Turpin Okla; four brothers, Charles Covel, Tecumseh, Cecil Covel and wife, Linnie, Lindsey, Okla., Bob Covel and wife, Pam, Choctaw, Okla., and Dean Covel and wife, Mary, Moore, Okla.; three sisters, Carolyn Covel, Oklahoma City, Mary Covel, Harrah, Okla., and Nancy McDonald and husband, Jay, Nun, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Mindy Lee, Mitchell Lee and fiancee, Cambee Jines, James and Jessica Gokey, Shelby Gokey, Ryan and Kayla Gokey and Siarra and Kellan Hernandez; one great-granddaughter, Destiny Lee; and dear aunt Helen Griffith, Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Wayne Covel, and one sister, Ladonna Jo.
o Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Miller Chapel.
Burial was at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
