GAME 3 - Seward vs. Southern Georgia
Two RBI double by Bean gives Saints a 6-4 lead. Maestas follows with a two RBI home run to give Saints an 8-4 lead. WIlliams hit by pitch, Polito walks, one out. Southern Georgia switches to thrid pitcher in the inning. South Georgia walks in a run, Saints take 9-4 lead. South Georgia changes to fourth pitcher of the inning, one out, bases loaded. Barrios strikes out for second out of the inning Hill at the plate. Hill hits two RBI single, later reversed to an error, Saints up 11-4. Fifth pitcher of the inning comes to the mound for South Georgia. Bean at bat. Bean hits 2 RBI double (5 RBIS in the game). Seward up 13-4, two outs, Bean on second. Pop foul out ends inning.
Gustin up with bases loaded one out. Gustin strikes out. Barrios at bat, two outs, bases loaded. Barrios hit by pitch to score 14-4 lead for Saints. Bases loaded with two outs. South Georgia gets third out, Saints leave bases full. South Georgia has to score in the bottom of the sixth to avoid run rule.
South Georgia goes down in order, Saints run riule South Georgia 14-4. Saints advance to ply at 4 p.m. Tuesday against the lose of th Potomac vs. Central Arizona game..
GAME 2 - Seward vs. Southern
Seward scores two in the top of the third inning on a Rainey home run to take a 2-0 lead. Southern has two batters reach base with no outs in the bottom of the third but the Saints get a pop bunt, a fielder's chioce at second and a pop fly to right to end the threat.
Dilalio doubles to lead off the fourth. Polito gets a one-out bunt single, runners at first and third. Rainey gets RBI single. RUnners still on the corner, 3-0 Saints. Gustin strikes out. Runners at first and third, two outs. Barrios gets an RBI double to right field. Seward stretched lead to 4-0, runners on second and third. Bean hits soft liner caught by pitcher to end the inning.
Bottom of fourth, Saints retire Southern in order.
Hill leads of fifth with a walk but Saints cannot move runner.
Southern stands a runner after getting hit by a pitch. Saints protect 4-0 lead.
Polito walks to start sixth inning. Rainey reaches on bad throw to first. Runners on second and third, no outs. Gustin strikes out for first out. Barrios pops out on the infield for second out. Bean grounds out to end the inning with two Saints stranded on base.
Southern gets a single in the bottom of the sixth but leaves him stranded.
Hill leads off seventh with a single. Maestas bunts a popout. Dilalio pops out on the infield for seocnd out. Hill steals second. Williams grounds out, strands Hill.
Southern strands a runner at second in the bottom of the seventh, Saints head to the eighth with a 4-0 lead.
Polito leads off eighth with a walk. Rainey sacrifices Polito to second.Gustin gets infield hit, runners at first and second one out. Barrios lines off pitcher's glove to load the bases. Bean gets RBI sacrifice on grondout to first. Saints take 5-0 lead. Hill walks to load bases, two out. Maestas strikes out to leave bases loaded.
Bean makes good play at first to get thrid out and strand runner on third. Saints head to the ninth with a 5-0 lead.
Seward can't add to lead in the top of the ninth, head to the bottom of the inning with a 5-0 lead.
Paul Pulley loses shutout, run scores with bases loaded ona wild pitch, one out. Sothern has runners at seocnd and third. Pulley gets complet gae victory. Seward advances to face Southern Georgia at 11 a.m. Monday.
Jefferson, Mo., is the firts team eliminated after a loss to South Georgia, 10-4, and Patomac State, 8-5.
Southern Union eliminated after 5-1 loss to Saints.
South Georgia eliminated after 14-4 loss to Saints.
GAME 1 — Seward vs. Iowa Western
The Saints lost their first round game against Iowa Western, 17-9, in the seventh inning. Seward will face Southern at 2 p.m. Sunday in an elimination game.
Iowa Western gets an eight run lead in the seventh which enacts the run rule over the Saints. Seward pitching could not control the Reivers despite scoring nine runs of their own.
Iowa Western took the largest lead of the game in the bottom of the sixth with three runs scoring in the inning for a14-9 lead. Hucul was chased off the mound in the inning.
Seward scored two runs in the top of the sixth to cute Iowa Western's four run lead in half.
Iowa Western intentionally attempted to steal second and gets caight in a rundown so the runner form third can score to give the Reivers an 11-7 lead over the Saints.
An error on Maestas allowed go-ahead run to score and the runner to be safe at first. Pop to center was not seen, and the Reivers load the bases with one out and an 8-7 lead.
Iowa Western scored the tying run and is threatening in the bottom of the fifth to take their first lead of the game. Seward had leads of 4-0 and 7-4.
Iowa Western scored two in the fourth to cut the lead to one.
Seward did not score in the top of the fourth after a two-out double.
The Saints scored four runs in the top fo the first, but a grand slam tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the second.
The Saints responded with a three run third inning, and Seward retired three of the four Iowa Western batters in the bottom of the third.
