Scoring droughts ended the Beaver Dusters season, with a loss to the Laverne Tigers 32-26.

“It felt like there was a lid on the rim," Dusters coach Brian Stalder said. "We lost confidence and stopped attacking the basket.

And when you are missing shots it feels like the rim is shrinking.

Our trap was effective, but we just didn't make enough shots.

That was the struggle for the Dusters all night scoring 3, 10, 4 and

9 in each of the quarters. Beaver's first points came when Kyler McDonald hit from beyond the arc with one minute left in the first quarter. After Scott Lujan's putback gave the Tigers a 9-3 lead Beaver went on a bit of a scoring tear in the last three minutes of the half. Beaver outscored Laverne 10-2 to take a 13-11 lead at half Beaver struggled to score again in the third with Kael McFarland's two baskets, four minutes apart, being their only points.Laverne led after three 19-17.

Beaver battled back in the final period and tied the game at 21 when Samuel Becker scored in the paint. Harrison Erdman helped Beaver close the gap again with 2:04 left when he scored and was fouled.

Erdman made the extra point and Beaver only trailed 27-26.

But the Dusters were unable to use the momentum, and Laverne made 5 of 8 free throws down the stretch to win 32-26.

Becker and Kael McFarland led Beaver with 6 points each and Erdman added another 5. Beaver finished the season 11-12.
