LESTER W. BULLOCK ULYSSES – Lester W. Bullock, 84, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses. He was born Jan. 25, 1925, to Morgan T. and Jenny M. (Johnson) Bullock in Stanton County. He married Vera Mae Peirce Feb. 10, 1961, in Ulysses. She died May 5, 2006. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for Popejoy Highway Construction for 31 years. He attended the Freewill Baptist Church of Ulysses. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards and bingo. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Wilma J. Coghill and husband, Roy, Ulysses; one brother, Albert Bullock and wife, Bernice, Jacksonville, Texas; one sister, Ruth Oliver, Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Peirce, Elkhart; and many nephews, nieces and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two stepsons, Edward and Donald Peirce, two brothers, Lloyd and Walter Bullock; and one sister, Alice Chambers. o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Free Will Baptist Church of Ulysses. Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Grant County Funeral Home.
