GREAT BEND — The Liberal High School boys tennis team won the Great Bend Invitational on Saturday with a dominating performance. The Redskins brought home three individual first place finishes and one third place.
Competing teams included Dodge City, Garden City, Great Bend, Hoisington,and Ellinwood. 
Liberal finished first with 44 points followed by Garden City with 42 and Great Bend with 34 points.
Individual results:
No. 1 Singles — Larcyn Carter went 5-0 earning the gold medal.  He defeated Dodge City’s Tanner Miller 8-0, defeated Ellinwood’s Kale Clawson 8-5, defeated Garden City’s Blake Stucky 8-4, defeated Hosingotn’s Ethan Smith 8-0, then defeated Great Bend’s Noel Rodriguez 8-2 to win first place.
No. 2 Singles — Josh Hamilton went 3-2 on the day earning a bronze medal.  He defeated Dodge City’s Hendrik Kronsbeln 8-4, defeated Ellinqood’s Aaron Pike 8-2, lost to Garden City’s Fidelix Kyan 5-8, lost to Great Bend’s Ramon Garcia 4-8, than defeated Hosington’s Jordan Klima 8-2 to finish third place.
No. 1 Doubles — Duc Nguyen and Vince Nguyen went 5-0 finishing first place. The duo defeated Dodge City’s Salom/Nichols 8-0, defeated Ellinwood’s Blakeslee/Troyer 8-4, defeated Garden City’s Riggs/Clarke 8-4, defeated Hoisngton’s Batt/Buntain 8-1, then defeated Great Bend’s Moyers/Jacobs 8-2 to finish with the gold medal.
No. 2 Doubles — Adrian Amado and Joseph Coto went 4-1 finishing first place. This team impressed all with their first varsity tournament appearance. They defeated Dodge City’s Brock/Lopez 8-2, defeated Ellinqood’s Isern/Niles 8-2, lost to Garden City’s Brennon/Keller 3-8, defeated Hoisington’s Schauf/Brickley 8-4, then defeated Great Bend’s Heeke/Neeland 8-7 (8-6 tie breaker) to end in a three-way tie for first place honors. Liberal travels to Goddard Saturday.
