L&T staff report
ELKHART — The Elkhart Lady Wildcats swept the Southwestern Heights Lady Mustangs on Thursday afternoon, taking two from Heights by identical 12-2 scores.
Heights falls to 1-3 on the young softball season.
“They were solid defensively, good pitching, good hitting,” Southwestern Heights coach J.R. Mendoza said of Elkhart.
Crystal Navarro and Steffany Tabb scored the runs for Heights in game one, and Navarro scored both runs in the second game.
“She did a great job as a lead-off hitter,” Mendoza said. “She got on base, but we couldn’t get a whole lot of hits other than that.”
The Lady Mustangs will take on Lakin Monday at Charlie Smith Memorial Park in Plains.
