Antonio “Tony” Sanchez, 62, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1946, in Crystal City, Texas.
He attended high school in San Antonio.
He married Pauline Garcia July 3, 1984, in Raton, N.M.
He was the owner and operator of Tony’s Auto Shop in Liberal.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.
He is survived by five sons, Charlie R. Montano and wife, Patricia, Denver, Michael Montano and wife, Veloy, Colorado Springs, Colo., Ruben Montano and wife, Shirley, Colorado Springs, Robert Montano and wife, Martha, Pueblo, Colo., and Richard Montano, Denver; one daughter, Beatrice A. Martinez and husband, Alex, Colorado Springs; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Ed and Alma Delgado.
o Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father James Dieker presiding.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Minneola Cemetery.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 9 – 5 p.m. Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
