TEXHOMA, Okla. — The Hooker boys and girls and the Tyrone boys all advanced in the 33rd annual Texhoma tournament on Thursday.
The Hooker boys jumped out to a 37-6 first quarter lead on their way to an 81-24 win over Boise City. The Bulldogs (10-5) will play Balko today at 5:15 in the semifinals.
Balko downed Turpin 44-38. The teams were tied at 10 at the end of the first quarter, but Balko outscored the Cardinals 11-9 in th second to take a 21-19 lead at the half.
Turpin cut it to 29-28 entering the fourth quarter, but the Bison ended the game with a 15-10 run to post the victory.
Turpin (6-10) was scheduled to play Boise City at 12:15 today.
The Balko girls opened the game with a 27-8 run and went on to down Turpin 57-15.
Turpin (2-14) was playing Tyrone today at 1:30 p.m.
The Hooker girls jumped on Tyrone 25-8 in the first quarter and went on to down the rival Lady Bobcats 68-34. Hooker improved to 7-8 while Tyrone drops to 5-7.
The Tyrone boys beat Goodwell for the third time this season, 67-39, using strong shooting. The Bobcats (13-1) will battle Texhoma today at 7:45 p.m.
