By SHAWN YORKS • Leader & Times High school basketball fans are in for a full slate of action tonight across the area. The Liberal High School Redskins are back on the road tonight in Scott City, where the Redskin boys will face an unbeaten Scott City squad that features one of the area’s top scorers. But at 5-3, Liberal features another top-noth scorer in Jade Cathey. The senior averages 20 points per game for the Redskins. The Lady Skins are fresh off a big win over Garden City on Tuesday night, and come into tonight’s game with a 4-4 overall record. Justice Norah averages over 20 points per game for the Lady Redskins. The Southwestern Heights Mustangs and Lady Mustangs return home tonight for the first time since the first game of the season back in early December, to face Sublette. The Lady Mustangs are 6-1 overall, their only loss a 3-point setback to Stratford, Texas at the Hugoton Tournament. The ladies easily handled Meade 60-38 on Tuesday night as Heidi Brown drained 25 points. The Mustang boys enter the game 2-5 and look to get back on the winning track. The big games in the Oklahoma Panhandle will be the Beaver County rivalry between Forgan and Beaver, at Forgan High School. The Forgan boys are 14-2, and their only losses have come against 6A and 5A competition in the Tulsa Tournament of Champions. Forgan faces a Duster boys team that is led by a pair of shooters in Samuel Becker and Cole Trippet, while Forgan spreads the wealth scoring-wise. The Lady Dusters are 14-2 overall and face an 8-5 Lady Bulldogs who have won two straight. In other games, Turpin is at Texhoma, Tyrone is at Hardesty and Hooker is at Laverne. All games begin at 6:30 with the girls games, with the boys to follow.
