EagleMed LLC (“EagleMed”) announced Friday that it intends to partner with AIRMD, LLC (“LifeTeam”) to provide critical care air medical and ground transport services to the citizens, partners, and communities they serve under one brand.
While the transaction and terms are subject to ongoing negotiations, the partnership is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2011 and would be followed by a systematic base-by-base integration of LifeTeam personnel, rotor wing, fixed wing and ground transport assets into EagleMed.
Prior to finalizing this partnership, both EagleMed and LifeTeam, as independent air medical operators, will continue to provide the patient care and safe air and ground transport services that are the hallmark of their respective organizations.
Martin Sellberg, President and CEO of LifeTeam said: “This partnership is the fulfillment of a long term vision to combine the best of the best for the patients entrusted to our care. The unparalleled opportunity for synergy and the combination of strengths of the two companies will tremendously enhance air transport service in our region.”
Larry Bugg, President of EagleMed said, “LifeTeam is an exceptional organization that has garnered a well-deserved reputation for providing quality critical air and ground medical care service. LifeTeam’s legacy would be well-served through this partnership, which represents a blending of core values, exceptional people, significant aviation and medical resources and expertise, and best practices. Together, we can leverage our combined resources and attributes to more efficiently and effectively serve our communities and the patients we transport.”
LifeTeam is a physician owned and driven medical air and ground transport company, dedicated to providing the highest quality care to those with a medical emergency. Utilizing fixed wing aircraft, helicopters and ground ambulances, the LifeTeam system functions as an extension of the hospital with the mission of improving patient outcomes by directly affecting the timeliness and consistency of patient care delivered during transport.
EagleMed and LifeTeam both have a presence in Liberal, which will now be partnered together.
