DODGE CITY — The West B team had its early oppurtunities to score and did not take advantage of them and Kenneth Henderson rebounded and out muscled the warriors to a 18-8 first quarter lead en route to a 33-28 win on Tuesday. The Warriors were not going down without a fight and responded with six second quarter points as Yvette Vasquez helped chip at the lead with four points but the Warriors still trailed 23-14.
West could not make any pushes to cut at the lead as both teams scored six points in the third quarter and KH still led 29-20.
One last push by the Warriors was shortened by key players fouling out of the game with 3 mintues left in the game, but the Warriors still battled to the end losing 33-28. The loss gives West second place in the league and ends the season for the B-team girls with a record of 10-3.
Coach Adams said the girls never gave up and played thier hearts out all the players deserve a big hand for thier efforts this year.
Kattie Silva scored 7, Diamond Ward 7, Trinity Coleman 4, Taylor Young 2, Yvette Vasquez 6, Keynitra Houston 2.

Abe Hubert came out with fire in their eyes from losing to Kenneth Henderson the night before, and the Warriors were not ready for the quick attack. Abe jumped out to a 14-2 first quarter lead and kept attacking the the Lady Warriors as the lead grew to 24-8 at halftime.
West made a little run in the third but the Hawks were not to be denied and flew by west 39-15.
West claims fourth in the league touurnament and ends the season with a 4-9 record.
Coach Knott said the girls have been up and down all season and could not put good games back to back this year, but the girls still will grow and get better as their high school years go by.
