ULYSSES – Ysidoro Vasquez, 81, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 4, 1927, to Epifanio and Maragarite (Rodriguez) Vasquez in Pear Valley, Texas.
He married June 25, 1985, to Corina A. Guerrero in Ulysses. She survives.
He worked for the City of Ulysses as a trash collector.
He was a member of the Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Ulysses.
Other survivors include seven sons, Armando Salgado, Ysidoro Vasquez, Epifanio Vasquez, David J. Vasquez, Carlos Vasquez, Abel Vasquez and Albert Vasquez; three daughters, Christina A. Rivas, Corina Carabajal and Maria Y. Vasquez; one brother, Bartolo Vasquez; one sister, Natalia Ayala; 31 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
o Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Ulysses.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Ulysses with Father James Baker presiding.
Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at Grant County Funeral Home.
