Authorities identify murdered man found near Oakley PDF Print E-mail

An arrest has been made after the body of a former Seward County resident found near Oakley was identified.
Wednesday, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation reported a body identified as Juan Edgar Hernandez-Jil, 23, was found Nov. 29 south of the Northwest Kansas community.
The KBI said Hernandez-Jil was from the Commerce City, Colo., and Seward County area. 
“As of this date, the next of kin has not been located for notification,” a KBI release noted. “It is believed he is from the Puebla, Mexico, area.”
On Dec. 3, in Seward County District Court, Alfredo Brunete was charged with the first degree murder of Hernandez-Jil, according to the KBI.
The investigation continues by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Liberal Police Department and KBI.

“No additional information is available at this time,” the KBI report concluded.
