ULYSSES – Douglas “Dale” Alexander, 53, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson.
He was born April 14, 1957, to Arlin and Betty (Avara) Alexander in Garden City.
He married Paula Kramer June 4, 1977, in Ulysses.
He then married Carol Deherrera May 18, 2010, in Elkhart. She survives.
He attended school in Ulysses, graduating from Ulysses High School in 1976.
He ranched and farmed with his father for several years. He spent the last 19 years working for Pioneer Natural Resources as a plant operator.
He was a member of the VFW in Liberal.
Other survivors include his parents; three sons, Christopher Alexander, Chad Alexander and Craig Alexander, all of Goddard; one daughter, Carrie Alexander, Amarillo, Texas; Carol’s children, Mary Ann Swim, Pratt, and Lisa Thomason, Elkhart; two brothers, Larry Alexander and David Irvin, both of Ulysses; four sisters, Nancy Ferris, Hutchinson, Becky Sanders, Oklahoma City, Debbie Hartsell, Hartsville, S.C., and Gina Timmons, Sunray, Texas; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Alexander.
o Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Bill Harrold presiding.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
