SATANTA – Max Groth, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at his home in Satanta.
He was born June 22, 1936, to Edmond H. and Frances S. (Currey) Groth in Satanta.
He marred May 13, 1977, in Plainview, Texas. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and carpenter.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Satanta and AA of Sublette.
He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
Other survivors include three sons, Russell Groth, Garden City, Kenneth Groth and wife, Mikala, Jenks, Okla., and William “Kirk” Groth and wife, Jennifer, Scott City; one daughter, Cene Gibson, Oklahoma City; three step sons, Jim Groth and wife, Jan, Satanta, Bryan Groth and wife, Tawanna, Lakin, and Craig Groth and wife, Nancy, Satanta; one stepdaughter, Rise Groth and Brad Weeks, Satanta; two sisters, Christina Groth, Hobbs, N.M., and Doris Long and husband, Rodney, Hobbs; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Groth.
