A 4-year-old Ulysses boy died when he was hit by a semi Tuesday while crossing  a major roadway in Ulysses.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the youth as Ethan Rodenberg and reported the boy was riding his bicycle shortly after 6 p.m. trying to cross Kansas State Highway 25 (Colorado Street) at the San Jacinto Avenue intersection.

The report noted a 2006 Kenworth driven by Hobart G. Emberton from Garden City struck the boy.
