Staff and volunteers of Baker Arts Center have been preparing for weeks for its upcoming holiday fundraiser, Night of Lights. Formerly known as the Festival of Trees, the annual event has been taking place for more than 15 years.
Baker Arts Center’s Executive Director Adriane Hatcher said several special items will be highlighted during the silent and live auctions.
“Saturday at 5:30, the doors open,” Hatcher said. “There is a silent auction until 7 p.m. The live auction starts at 7:30.
“Stan the Stag made by the Wrought Iron Mammas, is a life-size, big, expressive deer sculpture,” she continued. “That will be for the live auction. In the silent auction we will have a really nice Fiestaware table setting.”
Cocktail attire is suggested for Saturday evening’s event that will take place at the Quality Inn banquet room.
“Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served throughout the evening,” Hatcher said. “The live auction will be pretty entertaining itself, Mike Gatlin will be the auctioneer.”
Night of Lights is listed as Baker Arts Center’s most elegant fundraiser at www.bakerarts.org. Hatcher said, the event would not be possible without the help of community members.
“Thank you to the volunteers and donors that helped make this possible,” she said.
Tickets are $25, but availability is limited, Hatcher said. Those interested in purchasing tickets are encouraged to call Baker Arts Center at 624-2810.
