LETTER TO THE EDITOR, Ilse Rosales, Liberal

I just wanted to make a complaint about our city commissioner Tony Martinez.

I am an employee at a local store, and Tony came in asking for a refund because some connectors he had purchased the day before. He bought two that rung up to $6.58. They were on sale 40 percent off, and I had told him the price, and he said that was fine.

The next morning he came in yelling about how we overcharged him, and I explained to him that there wasn’t anything I could do about it because our store is closing down, and our system doesn’t allow us to do returns. He started yelling, saying how that was (expletive), and he was going to call our headquarters and tell them that they have to get me to do something about his refund and how I didn’t know how to do my job, and he wanted to speak to a manager because maybe then he can get his problem fixed.

I was alone, we had no manager, and I called my manager, and she told me the same thing that we are not allowed to do refunds or any kind of returns. Whenever my manager got here he was just the sweetest guy and acted like he didn’t just treat me badly.

He started talking to her about all the new places Liberal is getting. For example, Buffalo Wild Wings that we’re getting and how he made that possible, or the new strip mall, oh, and also the Lowe’s we’re supposed to get. He also mentioned to my manager that Target is next in line.

And to my understanding all of this is stuff he isn’t supposed to talk about.

I just wanted to bring it up to someone and call out Tony on the way he treats people. As a city commissioner, he should know how to act.
