MONTEZUMA – Emma Grace Dirks, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Bethel Home in Montezuma.
She was born Dec. 31, 1926, to Bernard and Helen (Fleming) Friesen in Leigh.
She married Harold Keith Dirks Sept. 29, 1946, in Winton, Ga. He survives.
She was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Other survivors include four sons, Jay Dean Dirks and wife, Janice, Potlatch, Idaho, Leslie Dirks and wife, Betty, Potlatch, Leo Dirks and wife, Mariam, Brazil, and Fred Dirks and wife, Denise, Iroquois, S.D.; three daughters, Bonnie Penner and husband, Eldon, Brazil, Greta Dirks, Montezuma, and Shirley Koepl and husband, Paul, Viola, Idaho; one brother, Herb Friesen of Mississippi; three sisters, Clara Koehn, Livingston, Calif., Bernetti Loewen, Geiger, Ala., and Mabel, Reno, Nev.; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon Dirks; one sister, Leah Herbert; and two great-grandchildren.
o Funeral service was at 1:30 p.m. today at Bethel Home in Montezuma.
Additional services will be at Woodland Mennonite Congretion in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
