BALKO, Okla. – John Omer “Doc” Regnier, 66, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born April 28, 1944, to Lawrence Edward and Carrie Elizabeth (Smalley) Regnier in Clayton, N.M.

He married Retha Sager July 11, 1968, in Balko, Okla. She survives.

He graduated from high school and attended seven additional years of college.

He was a veterinarian and rancher.

He was a member of the Balko Baptist Church for 29 years.

He was a member of the American Veterinarians Association and the Oklahoma Veterinarians Association.

Other survivors include three daughters, Sarah Johnson, Bixby, Okla., Shayla Regnier-Nelson, Balko, and Shelly Stricklen, Stillwater, Okla.; one sister, Cathy Daniel, Folsom, N.M.; five grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Balko Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Taylor and Mark Farr presiding.

Burial will be at the Bluemound Cemetery in Balko, Okla.
