Special to the Leader & Times

The Eisenhower Middle School cross country teams competed in Hays Tuesday and came away with two championships and two second-place finishes.

The seventh grade girls finished second to a very impressive Hays team. Ava Maxwell finished 10th and Hallie West finished fourth.

The seventh grade boys won their third meet in a row. Medalist include Gideon Wright in eighth, Anthony Castilleja in sixth, and Josiah Perez in third.

Just like the seventh grade boys, the eighth grade girls won their third meet in a row.

“There was a mix up with the bib numbers so although the plaque got sent home with another team, the Lady Warriors did finish in first,” Eisenhower coach Brandi Fowler said.

Medalists for eighth grade girls were Helena Combs in ninth, Joceline Hernandez in seventh, and Jacqueline Hernandez in fourth.

The eighth grade boys finished in second place with the lone medalist being Iram Camacho finishing in second place.

The Warriors travel to Hugoton Saturday.
