ERNEST L. FOOTE
MONTEZUMA – Ernest “Ernie” L. Foote, 94, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
He was born Nov. 9, 1914, to James and Nettie (Mattoon) Foote in Montezuma.
He attended Fairview Country School and finished high school in Montezuma.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ingalls.
He enjoyed playing baseball as a pitcher, going to ballgames, watching western movies and listening to religious music. He also enjoyed making small wooden clocks, rocks and gardening.
Survivors include nephews, nieces and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Esther Clapp, two brothers, Robert L. Foote and Vernon W. Foote, and three sisters, Nellie Grice, Ruth M. Foote and Edna B. Johnson.
o Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. today at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ingalls with Father Wesley Schawe presiding.
Vigil services were at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ingalls.
Burial was at the Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ernest L. Foote Memorial Scholarship and may be mailed to Montezuma Funeral Home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.
