Billy E. McCroskey, 70, died Friday, June 16, 2017. 

He was born Dec. 13, 1946to Wallace David and Florence Irene (Green) McCroskey in Denver. 

He married Beverly Ralston April 15, 1966 in Liberal. They later divorced. 

He married Sharon K. Schneider June 5, 1988  in Las Vegas, N.M. She preceded him in death June 23, 2005. 

He attended school in Aztec, N.M.

He worked as an oil field driller in Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona and Kansas. 

He later became an over-the road truck driver. 

Survivors include three children: Richard (Danette) McCroskey, Tyrone, Okla., Sheila Keebler, Delavan, Wisc., and Ronda (Carlos) Salazar, Liberal; seven grandchildren: Klynna McCroskey, Topeka, Kala McCroskey, Wichita, Michael McCroskey, Texas, Daniel Martin, Hugoton, Sean McCroskey, Delavan, Wisc., Veronica (Jeffrey) Calderon, Liberal, and Christopher Keebler, Delavan, Wisc.; five great-grandchildren: Amaya Cohens, Elizabeth Mendez, Allie Mendez, Ismael Calderon and Aidan, McCroskey; four sisters: Cheryl (Kenneth) Downs, Nemaha, Neb., Irene Crites, Arlington, Texas, Virginia (Kenneth) McCroskey, Rock Port, Mo., and Helen (Earnest) Brooks, Pampa, Texas; five brothers: Melvin McCroskey, Ft. Supply, Okla., Robert (Bonnie) McCroskey, Amarillo, Texas, Walter McCroskey, Pampa, Texas, James Thomas, Yuma, Ariz., and Carl McCroskey, Perryton, Texas; many nieces and nephews; close friend, Virginia Clark; and canine companions: Bert, Sadie and Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry McCroskey; sister, Sandy Reynolds; brothers, Charles McCroskey and Wallace McCroskey; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Krystal Mendez.

• Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery inTopeka. 

Memorials are suggested to Ronda Salazar, which will be designated later by the family and sent to P.O. Box 1684, Liberal, KS 67905.
