Daily Leader staff report
Kody Thexton continues to see improvement in his Lady Redskin golf program, and the scores continue to drop lower and lower as the team gains more and more experience.
This past weekend was no exception as one Lady Redskins turned in her best performance as a Lady Redskins.
The Liberal girls golf went to Lakin Saturday for an 18-hole event.
Megan Campbell shot a career best 93 and placed third.
The winning score was 92 so there was a playoff for first.
Jamie Brond shot a 114 and Kaela Kruger shot a 119.
“I had girls missing due to a band trip which didn't allow us to have a team score,” Thexton said. “I am happy with the performance of the girls. They have a good chance of qualifying for state if they keep the scores where they are.”
The girls next tournament is at Great Bend on Tuesday starting at 3 p.m., and it is an nine-hole event.
