MEADE – Leo H. Dabbelt, 90, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at the Meade District Hospital.
He was born Sept. 12, 1920, to Hubert Gerhardt and Mary (Nieport) Dabbelt in Fowler.
He married Margaret F. Zumberge at Celina, Ohio, Sept. 18, 1958.
As a young boy he attended St. Anthony Catholic School in Fowler.
He worked for the Meade County Road and Bridge Department, retiring in 1983, after 36 years of service.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Meade, and the Knights of Columbus for over fifty years.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer and Harry; eight sisters, Mary Ann, Elenora, Agnes, Bernadine, Leona, Elvina, Lorretta and Hilda.
o Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meade.
Holy Mass will be celebrted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Jimmy Barrazo presiding.
Friends may call from noon until 5 p.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade and from 5:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
Burial will follow at the Fowler Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Catholic Church, the Beam Senior Center or Lone Tree Retirement Center and may be sent in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary
