HUGOTON – Shirley Rector, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Satanta District Hospital.

She was born Oct. 8, 1929, to Gussie William and Cynthia Leota (Diveley) Grandfield in Fayette City, Ill.

She married Dean Rector Oct. 10, 1949, in Grand Junction, Colo. He preceded her in death.

She graduated from high school in Canon City, Colo.

She was a caregiver for her grandson, Gage Rector.

She enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Linda Acker and husband, Greg, Fontana, Calif., William Rector and wife, Debra, Hugoton, Jack Rector and wife, Teresa, Fort Worth, Texas, Stephen Rector and wife, Lisa, Lawrence, Shawn (Sean) Rector and wife, Susan, Hugoton, Vickie Mills and husband, Marty, Hugoton, and Vivian King and husband, Cody, Crane, Texas; three sisters, Clara Grandfield, Maxine Hamilton and Blondell Griffin; grandchildren, Shane Acker, Tiffany Kreitzmeier, Brandon Acker, Gwendolyn Sillmon, Colleen Sheldon, Corrine Williams, Clayton Rector, Jake Rector, David Rector, Melissa Rector, Ashley Rector, Gage Rector, William Rector, Lacie Rector, Breonna Whisennand, Dre’ Whisennand, Cathryn Mills, Lacey Mills, Colton King and Meagan King; and great-grandchildren, Kayllee Acker, Kyle Acker, Wyatt Acker, Hayden Sillmon, Chloe Sillmon, Marrine Williams, Robert Williams and Zoey Oakley.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Heather Acker.

o Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Hugoton with Pastor Randy Nash presiding.

There will be no public visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the Shirley & Gage Rector Scholarship Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS  67951.
