SATANTA – Esther Bridgers, 108, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Satanta District Hospital.
She was born Nov. 2, 1900, to W.G. and Ida (Prater) Bivens in Madison, County, Ark.
She married Samuel Bridgers. He preceded her in death.
She was a bookkeeper for the water department in Fort Smith, Ark., from 1936 to 1957.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith.
Survivors include one son, Ray Tweed and wife, Mary Ellen, Liberal; one daughter, Mildred Jackson and husband, Tim, Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lee, Jim and Glen; and two sister, Georgia and Gladys.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Edward’s Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Haskell County Funeral Home.
