LFD Lieutenant Austin Nash
Age: 25
Experience: Firefighter in Liberal for three and a half years
Hometown: Georgetown, Texas
Special training: Aircraft rescue and firefighting, high angle rescue, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat awareness and Hazmat Operations
Hobbies: Motorcycles, four wheelers, spending time with family and going to the sand dunes
Why firefighting? “I was in a bad car wreck when I was 4 years old, and I was in a coma for seven days. When I was a little kid, I decided I wanted to pay it back. I always wanted to, but I went to college to be an airline pilot. I decided against it and came back to be a firefighter and EMT to pay it back.”
