ULYSSES – Susan “Susie” Napton, 54, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center – St. Francis in Wichita.
She was born April 7, 1956, to Wilburn and Anna Susanna (Widemer) Nelson in Lemmon, S.D.
She married Gary Pister Sr. in 1974.
She then married Kelly Napton Feb. 17, 1990, in Lemmon. He survives.
She cooked and baked for restaurants.
She enjoyed making various crafts and growing plants.
Other survivors include six children, Kandice Wolf and husband, Dennis, Great Bend, Gary Pister Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Ulysses, Tammy Koehn and husband, Dexter, Holcomb, Brad Pister and wife, Alicia, Ulysses, Theo Pister and wife, Kristine, Ulysses, and Kristy Parker and husband, Clayton, Ulysses; one brother, Bob Nelson and wife, Patti, Harrisonville, Mo.; four sisters, Lorriane Holdahl, Wilsonville, Ore., Betty Eller and husband, Doug, Portland, Ore., Shirley Warfield and husband, Joe, Lemmon, and Helen Bergenheier, Lemmon; 17 grandchildren; brother-in-law, Casey Napton and wife, Heather, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Roark and husband, Steven, Apollo Beach, Fla., Nanette Poston and husband, Doug, Statesville, N.C.;
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John Nelson, Wilber Jr. “Sonny” Nelson and Arthur Nelson; two sisters, Bertha Johnson and Marge Lorenz; and two brothers-in-law, Lyle Holdahl and Joe Bergenheier.
o Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Nazarene in Ulysses with the Rev. Richard Stafford presiding.
Burial will be at a later date in Lemmon.
