MONTEZUMA – Emil Nightengale, 93, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
He was born July 22, 1917, to Abraham and Elizabeth (Wedel) Nightengale in Durham.
He married Lorena Wedel Oct. 27, 1940, in Copeland. She survives.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Salem Mennonite Church of Copeland.
Other survivors include five sons, Denton Nightengale, Palm Beach Garden, Fla., Robert Nightengale and wife, Connie, Copeland, Henry Nightengale and wife, Marietta, Sublette, Stanley Nightengale and wife, Jo Ann, Palm Beach Garden, and Mike Nightengale and wife, Evangelyn, Copeland; one daughter, Roberta Unruh and husband, Gerald, Hartley, Texas; one brother, Ervin Nightengale and wife, Juanita, Scott City; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Albert and John Nightengale; and four sisters, an infant Susann Nightengale, Leona Spence, Lorena Frank and Lydia Koehn.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Mennonite Church in Copeland with ministers Sam Unruh, Steve Unruh and Charles Nightengale presiding.
Burial will be at the Salem Mennonite Cemetery in Copeland.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Montezuma Funeral Home.
