MEADE – Frieda Isaac, 91, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at Wesley
Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born Aug. 11, 1917, to J.E. and Lena (Pauls) Wiens in Meade.
She married John J. Isaac May 9, 1937, in Meade. He died Oct. 16, 1988.
As a young girl, she attended school in rural Meade County.
She was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and attending to her flowers.
She is survived by one son, Larry Isaac and wife, Becky, Overland
Park; one daughter, Shirley Zortman and husband, Cay, Meade; two
brothers, Eldo Wiens, Meade, and Ed Wiens, Valparaiso, Ind.; three
sisters, Esther, Agatha and Helen, all of Meade; six grandchildren,
Todd and Natalie Isaac, Kelli Curry, Kristi Stallings, Max Wheeler
and Margo Shelton; and eight great-grandchildren, Reese, Regan and
Colton Curry, Allen, Kyra and John Shelton and Chase and Katelyn
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Erwin Wiens.
o Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the EMB Church in
rural Meade, with the Rev. David Cummings presiding.
Burial will be at the EMB Church Cemetery in rural Meade.
Friends may call until 7 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary
