Liberal’s Cynthia Rosemarie Foster, 7, has been chosen as a finalist in the National American Miss Pageant, which is scheduled to take place July 23 to 25 at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita. Cynthia is the daughter of Dan and Gwen Foster, and she will be competing in the Junior Preteen Division.
The winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, a bouquet of flowers and air transportation to the National Pageant in California, where she will receive a complimentary tour of Hollywood and two VIP tickets to Disneyland.
Cynthia’s activities include riding her bicycle, playing basketball, softball coach pitch, swimming and playing with her dog, Emily Rose.
She enjoys reading, doing art, singing and memorizing Bible verses. She also saves clothes she has outgrown and gives them to her church to send to Cookson Hills in Kansas and Oklahoma. She also follows Kismet’s Matt Rittchers’ missions.
Cynthia will be setting up a lemonade stand at 211 N. Tulane in Liberal to raise funds for her travelling expenses to Wichita. Her stand will be open now through Wednesday. If people wish to make donations to her fund, please call Gwen Foster at (620) 482-7075.
