ELKHART – Arden W. Nusser, 91, died July 10, 2010, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born Dec. 12, 1918, to John Nusser and Clarice (Lavielle) Nusser in Hutchinson.
He married Nila Belle Hoskins March 9, 1946, in Clovis, N.M. She survives.
He graduated from high school in Elkhart.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Along with his wife, he owned a dairy and farmed east of Elkhart, until he retired in 1988.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Elkhart.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 3162 in Elkhart.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Other survivors include three daughters, Ardith Ellis and husband, Rick, St. Charles, Miss., Rena Brewer and husband, Tom, Elkhart, and Ramona Johnson and husband, Bob, Elkhart; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lester Nusser and Hike Nusser, and one sister; Gladys Powell.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Christ Lutheran Church in Elkhart with Pastor Christopher M. Fincher presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post No. 3162.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
