Joye Joan “Nana” Garrison, 87, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society in Liberal.
She was born Jan. 9, 1923, to James R. and Edna O. (Hecox) Bradford in Hooker, Okla.
She married Kenneth Scott Garrison July 21, 1940 in Liberal. He died in Oct. of 1989.
She attended Liberal schools and was a lifetime resident of Liberal.
She owned and operated Joye’s Ceramic Shop for more than 40 years and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Rebekka Lodge and VFW Auxiliary
She loved her family, friends and customers.
Survivors include, one son, Kenneth J. Garrison, Liberal; one daughter, Janell Kirby and husband, Keith, Liberal; one son-in-law, James Jackson, Liberal; one brother, Edwin Bradford and wife, Allie Lou, Olathe; 10 grandchildren, Joe, Jeff and Jerry Jackson, Kerry Turner, Bryan and Jobe Garrison, Kurtis, Kevin and Scott Kirby and Kasey Perella; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joan Jackson; and one sister, Betty Bradford.
o Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to Seward County Community College Art Department or donor’s choice and may be sent in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS 67901.
