HOOKER, Okla. – Floyd Jasper “Hop” Raff, 90, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Dunaway Manor in Guymon, Okla.
He was born June 29, 1920, to Charles and Gladys Woodward Raff in Durham, Okla.
He married Wilma Dean Stanford Aug. 17, 1942 in Cheyenne, Okla. She survives.
He was the seventh of twelve children. After completing 8th grade he quit school and went to work to help support his family.
He served in the U.S. Army until his discharge in 1943.
He worked for Henry Witt, Skip Skillings, his uncle, Dennis Raff, and the railroad before going to work for Tri-County where he worked for 31 years until his retirement in 1983.
Other survivors include two daughters, Margaret Reynolds and husband, Bud, and JoAnn Rawlins; one brother, Mike Raff, Lompoc, Calif.; two grandsons, Mike Reynolds, Los Angeles, Calif., and Charles Rawlins, Hooker; two great-grandchildren, Adan and Erin Rawlins; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Russell, Lem, Bill, Kenneth, Pat and Pat’s twin who died shortly after birth; four sisters, Lillie Humphrey, Elmina Dobbs, Annie Norman and Viola Moore; and one son-in-law, Lelan Rawlins.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Church of Christ in Hooker with Matt Richardson presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hooker Cemetery.
