NEW YORK CITY – Epic PCS of Elkhart and Liberal and Guymon, Okla., along with companies such as CBS Television Distribution, ESPN, Fox Sports International, Harpo Studios, Microsoft and NBC Universal, is a winner in the 31st Annual Telly Awards for best corporate image video.
The video, awarded a bronze Telly Award, was written and directed by Linda Ward, advertising and marketing director for Epic PCS and Epic Touch, and produced, filmed and edited by Christopher Garrison, marketing and creative designer for Epic PCS and Epic Touch.
“The video was produced specifically for viewing during Guymon Pioneer Days and was titled ‘A Cowboy Essential – An Epic PCS Wireless.’ It features Terryll Gloden of rural Guymon as our Epic cowboy,” Ward said.
“We are delighted to receive a Telly – as less than 25 percent of the award winners from the nearly 11,000 entries were judged worthy. Entries came from all 50 states and numerous countries. Having been involved with this company for many years, I understand that this year’s Telly Awards is one of the most successful and competitive in its long history. A Telly could be said to be cable television’s award comparable to an Emmy®. In fact, the Telly statuette is made by the same firm that makes the Oscar® and Emmy®,” she said.
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and in recent years has expanded to web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.
This year’s winners include companies, agencies and organizations of all sizes, from large multinational media companies to small ad agencies and local production houses. In addition to those named above a sample of winners include: AEG Network Live, American Masters/WNET, AOL Media, Astrocast.tv, Bass Pro Shops Film and Video, Boehringer Ingelheim, Booz Allen Hamilton, Comcast Spotlight, Cox Sports Television, Discovery Channel, Eagles Television Network, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Golf Channel, Hasbro, Hewlett-Packard, Learning Seed, Lockheed Martin, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Outdoor Channel, PGA Tour Productions, State Farm Insurance, Suddenlink Media, The Weather Channel, TV Guide Network, Weber Shandwick and Women in Film.
A prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work. Entries do not compete against each other; rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Only silver and bronze Telly Awards are given.
