A 2-year-old Guymon, Okla., boy drowned Sunday evening at Liberal’s Adventure Bay water park
At about 6:52 p.m. Sunday, emergency personnel responded to a 911 call from Adventure Bay Family Water Park located at 1104 North Kansas in Liberal. The call was regarding a possible drowning involving a small child, according to a statement released Sunday night from Liberal Police Capt. Patrick McClurg.
Within minutes, emergency crews arrived and found lifeguards giving CPR to 2-year-old Travani Ramirez from Guymon.
Seward County Emergency Medical Services transported the toddler to Southwest Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at about 7:30 p.m.
The Liberal Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.  An autopsy was scheduled for 9 a.m. today, according to McClurg.
KSCB Radio is reporting the drowning took place in the basketball pool area of the park. This is the only drowning to occur at the facilty, which opened in July of 2009.
McClurg added the case is still under investigation.
