Pat McClurg of the Liberal Police Department said the collision occurred around 9:30 a.m. when an officer was dispatched to the location for an injury accident. “He got there,” McClurg said. “He determined that a 19-year-old female was driving a silver 2001 Toyota Echo.” The captain said the car was headed north on Pershing, when the 43-year-old riding a bicycle came out of the parking lot of Equity Exchange. “She looked up and hit her brakes, but she ran into the back of him,” McClurg said. “He was taken to Southwest Medical Center for treatment of head wounds.” Daily Leader photos/Robert Pierce
