Events and preparations have slowed a bit for Sheniece Morton, Miss Liberal 2010, since returning home from the competition at the Miss Kansas Pageant in Pratt, according to Miss Liberal Pageant Executive Director Lu Haynes.
“Sheniece represented Liberal very well and enjoyed all the events and competitions during the week preceding the Saturday night finals,” Haynes said.
“Lauren Werhan was crowned the new Miss Kansas 2010 and she will be competing as Miss Kansas at the Miss America Pageant in January in Las Vegas.”
Haynes and Patsy Fischer spent the entire week at Pratt in support of Morton.
Morton is making appearances around Liberal this summer and is preparing to further her studies at Wichita State University this fall.
Haynes was the lucky winner of the first Miss Kansas T-shirt Quilt. Miss Kansas 2009 Becki Ronen, her mother, Lisa, and other family members created a Miss Kansas T-shirt Quilt as a fundraiser for the scholarship fund. Each of the 20 contestants was asked to donate a T-shirt with their signature, for the quilt. Tickets were sold and the drawing was conducted during intermission on Saturday night.
“If you would like Sheniece Morton to make an appearance at your event, please contact me at
or by calling 624-9153,” Haynes added.
