A man arrested and charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child pleaded guilty to those charges earlier this week in Seward County District Court.
According to Seward County Attorney Don Scott, Jason Brown, a former South Middle School teacher and athletic coach, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and entered his plea Monday.
The case is set for sentencing at 2:30 p.m. July 14.
The charges came about following an arrest on Jan. 14. That arrest came after his resignation from USD No. 480 that same day. All of this was the result of two alleged incidents of “lewd and fondling or touching of a child” less than 14 years old in October and November of 2009 and another alleged incident in December 2009 with the same child, who had turned 14 by that time.
