Fannie Lea Russell, 85, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society in Liberal.
She was born June 21, 1924, to Robert E. and Edith Mae (Deaton) Grant in Hooker, Okla.
She married Kenneth N. Russell Oct. 28, 1947, in Liberal. He died Dec. 21, 1982.
She graduated from Eureka High School in Baker, Okla.
She worked in a dry cleaning shop. She babysat many children in Sublette for many years. She woked at the school cafeteria at the grade school and high school in Sublette.
She was a member of the Sublette Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school for years. She also attended the Church of Christ of Liberal.
She enjoyed collecting Avon bottles, crocheting, embroidering and crafts.
Survivors include one doughter, Charlene Godbey, Liberal; one brother, Robert Grant, Liberal; four sisters, Bobbie Lundberg and husband, Charles, McPherson, Nina Lauderdale, Athens, Ala., Gladys Reece, Dodge City, and Ola Howie and husband, Herb, Liberal; three grandsons, Michael Kopper, Chris Copper and Shawn Smith; one great-grandchild, Samantha Kopper; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mike Russell; four brothers, James Grant, Donald Grant, Chester Grant and Dillard Grant.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ in Liberal with Minister Ron Davis presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time at the Church of Christ in Liberal.
