ULYSSES – Eugene W. Klassen, 77, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Satanta District Hospital.

He was born Aug. 21, 1932, to Pete P. and Anna Victoria (Wiebe) Klassen in Marion County.

He married Helen Koslowsky in June 1958 in Hillsboro. She died Dec. 7, 1994.

He graduated from Lehigh High School.

He retired as a truck driver from Dekalb Seed Company in 1980.  After retirement, he drove a truck for a number of different trucking companies.

He enjoyed going to tractor shows and tractor pulls, fishing, camping, hiking and watching movies.

Survivors include one daughter, Marreta and husband, Kris Campbell, Hugoton; three brothers, Paul, Lehigh, James, Littleton, Colo., and Gerald, Denver; and three grandchildren, Edward, Scott and Kristyn.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

o Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bethel Friends Church in Hugoton with Pastor Eric Mason and Michael Klassen presiding.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to the Satanta District Hospital Long Term Care Unit in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
